Choir

Hewitt-Trussville High School Choral Program

The HTHS Choral Program is composed of the mixed chorus (Concert Choir), Women’s Chorale, and Chamber Choir.  Concert Choir is available to any student, regardless of experience, and requires no audition.  Women’s Chorale is an auditioned choir for female students who wish to be challenged in their ensemble.  Chamber Choir is an elite, audition-only ensemble that performs advanced a cappella literature.

HTHS Choirs have consistently earned superior ratings at festivals and assessments and are in frequent demand for singing engagements.  All ensembles focus on vocal technique, ensemble singing, music literacy, and discipline.  Students in the Choral Program include members of band, theatre, visual arts, student leadership, and various athletic teams and academies.

HTHS Choirs are directed by Dr. Ben Cook (john.cook@tcsk12.us), who also teaches AP Music Theory and vocal lab.
