Administration

Goodwin Scott, Assistant Principal
Hello. I am a proud native of Montgomery, Al. I graduated from Troy University with a degree in Social Science. After undergrad, I ventured to Auburn University where I received my MEd in school counseling, an EdS in Instructional Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, and I'm entering my fourth and final year of the Educational Leadership Doctoral program at The University of Alabama. Before coming to Hewitt Trussville Middle School, I worked between Hueytown High School and Hueytown Middle School, where I served as a bus driver, teacher, coach, counselor, and assistant principal. Outside of work, I enjoy playing golf, traveling, and Auburn football! I'm looking forward to a great school year and getting to know each one of you better. The reputation of Hewitt Trussville Middle School is one that has high standards and expectations. I am glad to be a part of that and learn from a great community that values education. Please contact me if I can help you in any way. And above all else, I'm just happy to be part of this HTMS team. Go Huskies!
Kathryn Rasberry, Assistant Principal
I’m originally from Mountain Brook, Alabama, and graduated from Mountain Brook High School in 2008. I began my journey in education at Auburn University, where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary English Language Arts Education. I later completed a Master of Arts in Teaching at the University of West Alabama and earned my Instructional Leadership certification through Auburn. I am currently pursuing an Education Specialist degree in the Administration of Elementary and Secondary Education, with plans to continue into Auburn’s Ph.D. program in Educational Leadership.
I began my teaching career at Shades Valley High School in 2012, where I taught English and served as a Student Council co-sponsor. In my time at Shades Valley, I stepped into additional leadership roles, including English department chair, Data Team Lead, and ACT Teacher Leader. In 2020, I joined Hewitt-Trussville High School, where I taught a range of 10th-grade English courses, including AP Seminar.
Outside of school, I love being outdoors—whether I’m fishing, kayaking, or just finding new places to explore. I’m also a big fan of road trips and enjoy traveling to new cities, both big and small.
I’m incredibly excited to serve on the HTHS administrative team. Hewitt-Trussville is known for its strong sense of community, academic excellence, and high expectations, and I’m honored to be a part of this school. I look forward to supporting our students, teachers, and families. Go Huskies!
